Particular features:
Tamil is the main language of the Indian region of Tamil Nadu. The present script used to write Tamil text is believed to have evolved from the Brahmi script. The earliest example of written Tamil dates back to 500 BC. An unusual fact: the letters of the alphabet are rounded in shape as the script was created to be written on palm leaves and therefore it was important to avoid letters with long horizontal or vertical lines that would have cut the leaf. Tamil is a syllabic and diacritic language
