Particular features:
Simplified and traditional Chinese differ in terms of the script used. Simplified Chinese is more widespread, and is used throughout the People's Republic of China, in Singapore and in Macao. Chinese (original name 汉语/漢語, 华语/華語, or 中文; Pinyin: Hànyǔ, Huáyǔ, or Zhōngwén) belongs to the Sinotibetan family of languages and is split into eight very different dialects. Chinese is the only language in the world whose script is based mainly on characters, known as hanzi 汉字 (traditional: 漢字, simplified: 汉字) and used in what we currently call Mandarin Chinese. There are about 50000 characters (60000 including dialect and simplified characters), but only a few thousand are commonly used. Standard Mandarin is the most widespread language in the world, with over one billion speakers. The government is urging for the adoption of a common language (simplified + pinyin: 普通话 Pǔtōnghuà) based on Mandarin. Soget possesses systems for the conversion of texts from simplified Chinese to traditional Chinese. Our DTP department uses simplified and traditional Chinese versions of the main DTP programs. As a result we are able to work directly on original layouts produced in Adobe InDesign, FrameMaker and PageMaker, Broadvision Quicksilver, Microsoft Publisher and Quark Xpress. Simplified and traditional Chinese - we convert texts between traditional and simplified Chinese, and vice versa. Simplified Chinese is more widespread: and is used throughout the People's Republic of China, in Singapore and in Macao. Traditional Chinese is used mainly in Taiwan and Honk Kong
