For many years now we have been developing computer aided translation technologies, which help maintain high quality standards while reducing delivery times and costs.
CAT, or Computer Aided Translation, is a form of translation where the professional translator (and not a machine!) uses software applications specifically developed to facilitate and improve on the translation process.
This technology, which is based on the use of translation memories and on the generation of glossaries, allows the distribution of work among several translators, obtaining homogeneous, specific, and quality controlled documentation in several languages.
Soget makes expert use of software and technology (translation, terminological databases, Quality Assurance, etc.), and holds maximum producer certifications, thereby guaranteeing our clientèle the rapid production of multilingual documentation at competitive costs.
REDUCING TRANSLATION LEAD TIMES AND COSTS
The concept behind CAT (Computer Aided Translation) technology is very simple: it exploits the computer’s potential to create memories of previously translated texts, organise them, and re-offer them for new texts. The immediate result is to reduce the usual delivery times, and consequently translation costs, particularly in the event of large translation projects.
When the previous translation of a phrase or term – particularly a technical term – is offered to the translator, the latter may accept it, thus obtaining homogeneous style and terminology throughout the documentation, or substitute it with a new version that is either clearer or more suited to the context. This substitution may also be extended to the entire documentation.
In both cases the result will be greater translation quality!
REDUCE DTP LEAD TIMES AND COSTS
Another advantage - a decisive one for the purposes of productivity - lies in the ability to translate texts directly in the original format, such as FrameMaker or Quark Xpress, thus avoiding the times and costs involved in restoring texts to the original layout in different languages.
COMPUTER ASSISTED TRANSLATION FOR CAD DRAWINGS
As technological documents generally also includes a large number of drawings, our CAT technology allows us to act directly on the original AutoCAD files in DWG format, exporting, translating (through our CAT systems) and re-importing the texts into the drawings.
COMPUTER ASSISTED TRANSLATION IN SOFTWARE AND WEBSITE LOCALIZATIONS
Our direct management of HTML, XML and XLIFF formats and of all the main programming languages means that we can tackle any localization project: from the internationalization of software to the localization of websites and multimedia products.
THOROUGH COMPATIBILITY°
We regularly handle all leading CAT systems: Across Language Server, SDL Trados and Star Transit, guaranteeing compatibility with TMs from Atril Déjà Vu, IBM Translation Manager, WordFast and the standard TMX format.
Our solutions allow us to operate on any Rtf, Word or Excel file and on all the main Desktop Publishing formats (Adobe FrameMaker, InDesign, Pagemaker, Interleaf / Quicksilver, Ms-Publisher and Quark-Xpress).
We use CAT technology to translate into and from:
Afrikaans, Albanian, Arabic, Bulgarian, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Cambodian, Czech, Korean, Croatian, Danish, Polish, Portuguese, Rumanian, Russian, Byelorussian, Bosnian, Catalan, Hebrew, English, Estonian, Farsi, Tagalog, Flemish, Finnish, French, Japanese, Greek, Italian, Indonesian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Dutch, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Swahili, Thai, German, Turkish, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Uzbek, Vietnamese.

CTM (Corporate Translation Management)
Soget further enhances the advantages of CAT with CTM proprietary solutions and Across Systems, integrating the creation and management of TMs and terminological databases into a single workflow.
The use of CTM systems allows the creation of a truly unified network within which clients, suppliers, internal staff and outsourcers participate actively.
