Interpreting

Soget's interpreters are professionals who combine linguistic expertise with specific skills in a variety of technical and scientific sectors, and who work in line with strict business ethics such as professionalism and confidentiality.

Soget offers all kinds of interpreting services:

• liaison interpreting
  for accompaniment, corporate visits and training.
• simultaneous, chuchotage and consecutive interpreting
  for conferences, video-conferences and congresses.

liaison interpreting
liaison interpreting ensures informal comprehension for small groups of people, and does not require the techniques applied for simultaneous and consecutive interpreting.
The service is required for meetings, business lunches, plant or factory visits, technical training sessions for the installation, use or maintenance of equipment, machinery and systems, and, in general, whenever the language support of a professional fluent, for example, in English and Italian is required.
At the customer’s request, the service may be provided by a professional translator whose mother tongue is either one of the two languages of interest.

SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETING
This service requires technical equipment (booth, headphones, microphones, etc.) and precise skills in simultaneous interpreting.
At least two interpreters are required per booth.
Our simultaneous interpreters are accredited by professional bodies or associations and are experienced in this form of interpreting. At the customer’s request, the service may be provided by a professional translator whose mother tongue is either one of the two languages of interest.

CHUCHOTAGE
By chuchotage we mean on-the-spot translations whispered into the listener’s ear while the speaker is speaking. This form of interpreting does not require particular props or technical support, and translations may not be literal. Chuchotage is limited to groups of maximum three people.

CONSECUTIVE INTERPRETING
Consecutive interpreting is mainly used for short meetings, seminars or conferences with a limited number of participants. It does not require any props or technical support and is conducted on an alternating basis with the speaker, in the presence of the participants.
A consecutive interpreter listens to the speaker, takes notes and relates the information faithfully to the audience.
