SOGET is among the first Language Service Providers in Italy to be certified under UNI EN ISO 17100:2015
Soget is proud to be among the first Language Service Providers in Italy to renew its certification under the new UNI EN ISO 17100: 2015 standard.
Compared to the UNI-EN 15038: 2006 standard, previously obtained by Soget and valid at European level, the new standard is valid internationally and assesses the quality of language services on a global scale.
Below is a summary of some of the main new features included:
- The focus is now placed on process and workflow management. For a company of advanced language services, translations form part of a wider and more complex workflow involving multiple resources. In this scenario, project managers play a central role. The new standard specifies the qualifications and professional skills required of resources, from project managers to translators and editors, stressing the importance of pursuing continuous professional development.
- Great importance is placed on interaction with the customer. A language service company must be able to interpret the customer’s needs correctly, providing prompt solutions and assessing the level of customer satisfaction.
- In addition, the standard provides a breakdown of requirements for managing pre-production (quotes, etc.), production (project management, translation, revision, editing, proofreading), post-production and through to the closing of all administrative procedures. Moreover, it includes a stringent information security procedure.
